Same as Hiragana, Katakana also included one of the basic
Japanese language characters. Wow, must learn and memorize characters again? Take
it easy guys, Katakana is not as difficult as you think. If you've learnt
Hiragana characters You will realize how easy Katakana is. Because Katakana has
the same pronunciation with Hiragana, because katakana and hiragana are similar
and equivalent each other, learn katakana as you learn hiragana or vice versa.
Before we learn Katakana, we have to know when katakana is used first, and the following is the usage of katakana:
- To write loan words, terms, names or foreign words (besides Japanese language)
- To write onomatopoeia (sound effects) in the text, such as in the Japanese manga-tone, usually written using katakana
- To emphasize a word. foreign words (words other than Japanese language) written using katakana, same as the Latin alphabet that use bold / italic to emphasize a word.
- To write onyomi reading of kanji in the dictionary

red color means that the characters have not pronounced
with usual way (irregular reading)
Specifically for Katakana has additional characters that
serve to transliterate words from foreign languages that are not covered by
the tribal sound traditional hiragana / katakana, these katakana characters are
called extended / modern katakana and it does not have the equivalent from
hiragana, calm down friend, there is no new character here, it's just a
combination of two katakana characters^^, here's a list of modern / extended Katakana.
Try to write "riizhu" in Katakana XD.
